Online Movie Ticket Booking: Convenient and Secure

Gone are the days when queuing up at the movie hall ticket counter in the scorching heat was a part and parcel of watching a movie in a theatre. Whether a civilized queue or a rowdy one, if you have been an ardent movie lover, you would have surely paid the penalty for your obsession. Till about a few years back, many people would simply avoid the movie halls because the thought of that long serpentine queue, the shoving and at times jostling, the yelling and shrieking of people around, fighting their way through to be able to get a seat; paying exorbitantly higher value to the black marketer for average movies and then repenting later and hundreds of other reasons like these – all that would be enough for majority of people to steer clear of movie halls and theatres. Back in those days, it didn’t really matter whether you were educated or not, standing in one of those queues was enough for most us to show the inhuman side of our nature. Not that all of us would behave in a similar manner, there were some who would just leave and go away silently hoping to see the movie either on television or on a DVD or even internet later.

When the concept of online shopping or ecommerce evolved way back in 1991, the thought of online movie ticketsbooking was still a far fetched idea. Even the father of internet or ecommerce, would have not imagined back then that one day people would be able to sit in the comfort of their homes, offices or public places like restaurants, coffee shops, hotel lobbies, market places, malls, on the move etc. to carry out online movie ticket booking with few simple clicks of the computer mouse or your finger tips on the mobile screen. However, when the phenomenon did start in the USA somewhere in 2000, we Indians were still in the zone of either jostling around in movie theatres for buying tickets or staying away from it. It was only in 2007 that India got its first and the largest entertainment and sports ticketing company that made available the facility of online ticket bookings to its customers. From tickets of ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 to other international cricket matches in the Indian subcontinent, this was the first time that the public got an opportunity to pre-book their tickets for matches and buy them online.

Today, some of the online industry’s best and smartest platforms, also called resellers like Paytm, MobiKwik and PhonePe are providing a wide range of services that include online shopping to virtual movie ticket bookings, from paying utility bills online to recharging DTH and mobile postpaid connections - the entire galaxy of services have been brought right to our doorsteps, rather finger-steps by these third party service providers.  These providers have facilitated convenient, easy and one of the safest ways of providing us, the common people, the means to live and enjoy life in a better way.
